Hi. I’m Margrit.

Margrit Boghosian, Therapist

Margrit Boghosian, LCSW, PPSC

Hi, there. I’m Margrit. Thanks for visiting. I am a licensed therapist in Los Angeles, California with 22 years of experience working with a wide range of clients. I come from a multi-cultural background and have a deep understanding of how culture can play a role in how we experience our mental health. I received both my Bachelors in Psychology (2001) and my Masters in Social Work (2003) from USC (Go Trojans!).

My approach:

I'm an integrative therapist who tailors each session to your needs, blending practical tools with deeper inner work. We explore how different "parts" of you respond to stress, notice unhelpful patterns, and practice grounding, perspective shifts, and everyday skills that support insight and lead to lasting change.

My focus:

I work with people facing life changes, stress, or past experiences that feel hard to overcome. Together, we’ll explore patterns, build resilience, and develop practical tools for healing and growth in a safe, compassionate space where your voice and journey are honored.

My communication style:

I show up as a real person: honest, grounded, and genuinely on your side. People often tell me I’m easy to talk to and that my warmth helps them settle in quickly. I’m compassionate without tiptoeing and direct without losing kindness. We’ll make sense of what hurts, find your strengths again, and create change that feels doable.

My journey to mental healthcare:

My own experiences with infertility, cancer, and early loss shape the compassion and clarity I bring. I know how deeply these moments reshape you. I offer practical strategies and deeper inner work to help you cope with life changes. These lessons guide my work as a therapist and inspire me to support others in creating healing and meaningful change.

My goals for you:

I take a collaborative, strength-based approach to goal setting. Together, we’ll explore what’s working, identify areas for growth, and create a plan that feels meaningful to you. I also use progress measures to track your growth and celebrate the positive changes along the way.

My first session with you:

Our first session is about connection and comfort. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy and explore your story through a whole-person lens. I’ll explain how therapy works, answer questions, and together we’ll begin shaping goals to guide our work in a supportive, safe space.

A word of encouragement:

Reaching out can feel vulnerable, but it’s also a powerful sign of strength. Taking this first step means you’re already moving toward something better, and you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk with you, support you, and help you navigate whatever you’re facing with care and steadiness.

In my every day life:

When I’m not working, I try to honor the quiet moments that make life feel full. I’m married, with three kids who fill our home with laughter and motion, and a dog who is always close by. I stay rooted in our community by volunteering at my children’s schools, a small but meaningful way to stay connected. At home, the garden is where I slow down, tending to the soil and watching small things grow in their own time. Sourdough baking offers a similar rhythm, from feeding the starter to shaping a loaf. Both practices remind me to be patient, to be present, and to find joy in the simple, steady rituals of everyday life.
